In this paper, we use Lacan's four speeches in order to characterize the current traditional Mathematics teaching and to analyze an alternative methodology from the point of view of Lacan's psychoanalysis theory. We discuss the differences of these methodological strategies in terms of the theory of semantic fields, referring to the two fundamental theorems of Calculus. The paper has two parts. The first one presents the four Lacanian speeches (the master's, the university's, the analyst's and the hysteric's speeches) and we try to bring them into the classroom context. The second part develops the analysis of the fundamental theorem of calculus as presented in a current textbook. We conclude the article presenting a possible pathway based on the preceding analysis.
