Among the mathematicians that play a prominent roll in Spain in the history of mathematics and in mathematics education, one of the most worldwide recognized was Pedro Puig Adam. Along this article a vision of his life and work is made trying to get to the bottom of the ideas that stamped his daily work. They were strongly tied with the european movements that emerged because of a need of a deep reform in mathematics teaching.
