Reeducate young people with learning difficulties in Mathematics (LDM/DAM) can help to solve some of the problems of modern society, because of the numerous skills that students can develop with the learning and use of Mathematics. This paper identifies the difficulties of a student in the seventh grade, Alice, with characteristics consistent with dyscalculia, in the learning of specific concepts of mathematical functions, particularly with regard to algebraic expressions, as well as the usefulness and importance of the usufruct of a timely and appropriate educational intervention according to her specificity. We used a qualitative methodology in a descriptive and interpretive perspective. The results of the study indicate that the student progressed in the learning of the functions, particularly of the algebraic expressions, and also changed her attitude towards the learning of mathematics and even in the use of mathematical concepts of functions.
