Author Guidelines

Originality of the proposal

Quadrante publishes original articles only, which have not been yet published nor are under consideration for publication elsewhere. However, part of the content of the manuscript may be adapted from authors’ presentations at conferences or academic works, as long as the editor is informed and adequate references are provided when the article is published.

Preparing texts for submission

Acceptance of the proposed article for the review process depends on strict compliance with the guidelines defined by the journal.

The proposal should not exceed 8,000 words (excluding abstracts and appendices) and may be written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, or English.

Title, abstract, and keywords should be provided in two languages: in the original language of the article proposal and in English (or Portuguese, in case the proposal is written in English). Each abstract should not exceed 200 words. Up to six keywords must be provided in both languages.

The text should follow the general formatting guidelines indicated in the template below. It is recommended that the text be constructed on the template file, in a compatible format with Microsoft Word, so that compliance with the journal’s norms may be warranted.

Template (docx) | Template (pdf)

Figures and tables included in the article proposal should be quite legible and, if applicable, include the sources. Authors should ensure proper authorization for reproducing copyrighted figures or tables.

Citations with more than forty words, as well as transcriptions, should be stood out in the text, with a 1cm margin on both left and right.

Notes should be avoided but, when necessary, they should appear at the end of the text, before references.

References should follow APA style, 7th edition (www.apastyle.org), both in the text itself and in the reference list.

Electronic submission

All authors must register on the journal’s website before submitting an article, in case they have not done so previously. One of the authors will then be able to access the system and begin the 5-step submission process.

Submitting an article requires the introduction of a set of information (metadata) for each of the authors: name, ORCID Id, affiliation, country, and e-mail address. The introduction of the authors’ names in the respective fields should reflect the authorship order wished by the authors, in case the proposal is accepted for publication. It will not be possible to include new authors in the article proposal after the review process has started.

The review process is anonymous. As such, the file containing the article proposal should not contain any information that could identify the authors or their institutions, namely their names, affiliations, self-reference of publications, or references to projects or financial support. If the article proposal is accepted for publication, this information will be further introduced.

However, authors should locate the omitted information in the text so that, if the proposal is accepted for publication, the missing information can be introduced.

Quadrante does not charge any fees for the submission, processing, or publication processes.
