This paper presents a research based on data resulting from a regional project in France. The aim of the project is to evaluate the impact of the use of mathematics E-Exercises-bases (EEB) in secondary schools. Our hypothesis is that the integration of EEB disturbs the usual habits of teaching. We thus examine this integration by taking as privileged dimension the teachers’ practices. Using the model of the activity developed by Y. Engeström we study the genesis of uses of EEB among the teachers involved in the regional project. The model permits to split the situation in several poles and to inquire on these poles and their interconnections. Results show that a student autonomous work is difficult to establish and teachers have to cope with new attitudes that are not so plain.
