    With thanks to all the authors and the guest editors, Nélia Amado and Pietro Di Martino, who contributed to the edition of the thematic issue of Quadrante on the theme of Affect in Mathematics Education, we would like to share with the readers a message of praise from Douglas McLeod, who greatly honours and encourages us. With his kind consent and that of María del Socorro García González, who received and shared the message, we quote:

    "I have been retired for a long time, but I am delighted that you continue to develop, expand, and improve the research base for improving mathematics education.
